PORT SECURITY BARRIERS, FLOATING ANTI-TERROR BARRIERS
Worthington's TUFFCAT barriers are a first line of defense against terrorist attacks. TUFFCAT is designed and tested for a single purpose: TO STOP BOATS.
Most commercial ports have limited space where barriers can be installed. Floating Barriers must be portable, easily deployed, able to be opened/closed with standard equipment and capable of stopping a boat with minimal penetration. Worthington recognizes these challenges and offers designs that accommodate the varied interests of the local port stakeholders.
Consider this: A boat traveling 60 mph per hour will cover 88 feet in just one second. Stopping that boat in less than one second can mean the difference between success or failure in the event of an attack. Because of the limited standoff distances available in most ports, the stopping time of the barrier becomes a critical component. We understand these challenges. Worthington's barriers are designed and tested to stop a boat in 1/2-Second or less.
Worthington's Port Security Barriers are used by the U.S. Coast Guard, Navy, Multiple Nuclear Power Generation Plants in the USA and Canada, Chevron-Texaco, BAE Systems and others as a first line of defense against terrorist attacks.
Road barriers converted to float on water do well at stopping cars. Wave Attenuation barriers are great at slowing waves TUFFCAT is great at stopping boats. When your barrier absolutely must stop an attack, the choice is clear, the choice is TUFFCAT.
