Engineering and stress analysis show we could use a smaller bottom plate.  We know what abuse these plates will see in the field. Our bottom plates are nothing but oversized strength designed for high load, high wear resistance and abrasion resistance.   Each plate is securely fastened via A325 structural bolts through the encasement directly into the internal steel channel.  Precise torque settings assure a tight fit that will not jar loose.
